Starr’s Mill welcomes new guidance office secretary Marcie Comeau. Born and raised in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Comeau previously worked as an accountant before she became a secretary for Starr’s Mill last July. “I’ve been at Starr’s Mill since July 16 of 2015,” Comeau said.
Comeau and her family moved because of her husband’s job. “We moved from Massachusetts to Atlanta,” Comeau said, “and we specifically picked this area for its school system.”
She was pleased to get this job at Starr’s Mill. “It’s a good school, a good job and it keeps me busy,” Comeau said.
Prior to her job as the counselor’s secretary, she saw both of her sons graduate from the Mill. “I’ve always been a part of this school,” Comeau said.
In the short time Comeau has had this job, she has discovered that her favorite part about being a secretary is “helping out all of the different students who come in and keeping everything flowing,” Comeau said.
In order to keep everything in the counselor’s office flowing nicely. “I have to have a lot of patience,” Comeau said, “a lot of patience and understanding.”
Many students come to her office each day with questions, comments and concerns. “There is always something going on,” Comeau said. “Seniors, especially now, are wanting transcripts, college applications and college visits.”
Comeau enjoys helping the counselors at the Mill by lightening their work-load however she can, “I help them out,” Comeau said, “if it is something that I can do, I will do it for them.”
