Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize junior tennis player Tatijana Taylor as the sixth Player of the Week for the spring sports season.

“I’ve definitely improved my mental game,” Taylor said. “[I’m] able to keep a positive attitude on the court.”

Taylor plays Line 1 Singles on the girls tennis team. She won both of her singles lines in the region tournament to help the team secure the region championship.

“Tatijana is a leader on and off of the court,” head tennis coach Amy Evert said. “[She] has an incredible work ethic.”

The girls defeated Northside 3-0 and Central Carrollton 3-1 to win the region title.

For the first time in school history, Starr’s Mill tennis will host state playoffs on their own courts. Matches begin at 3 p.m. on April 21.
