Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior boys lacrosse player Caleb Brown as the fourth Player of the Week for the spring sports season.

“I’ve been one of the most consistent positions to help us come home with a couple of wins,” Brown said. “I’ve kept us in a ton of games.”

Brown was part of the only class that took eighth graders onto the lacrosse team, so this senior has been on the lacrosse team for five years. He is head coach Jeff Schmidlkofer’s go-to for faceoffs, and has gotten a lot of practice doing so.

“It’s critical when you can win the ball back,” Schmidlkofer said. “He’s done a good job, you know, winning about sixty, seventy percent of the faceoffs, and that gives us a chance. It gives the ball back to our offense.”

Boys varsity lacrosse is currently 9-4 overall, 6-0 in area play. They recently won in a blowout 15-0 against Trinity Christian School. They are the only undefeated team in Region 3-A.

Boys varsity lacrosse will take on Westminster at home this Saturday at 12 p.m.
