Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior Aiden Wilson as the first Player of the Week of the spring sports season.
“We had a rough start, but we’ve been playing really well since then,” Wilson said. “I’ve been really available to relieve games and pitch when we don’t really have people.”
In 11 innings of pitching, Wilson has only given up five hits and one run. He also has 12 strikeouts and two saves.
“He’s been one of our most consistent players, and we’ve put a lot on him in the pitching this year,” head coach Brent Moseley said. “He’s been pitching two days a week, and he’s been doing really good.”
Starr’s Mill baseball is currently 8-3 and 5-0 in region play. They recently defeated Griffin 11-0 and 14-0 after sweeping Jonesboro in a three-game series.
The baseball team hosts Mundy’s Mill at 6 p.m. on March 11.
