Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize junior dancer Vivian Anderson as the seventh Player of the Week for the winter sports season.

“I think we’re all very hard-working and I think [I was chosen because encouragement] is a big part,” Anderson said. “I try to be encouraging to everyone.”

Anderson displays her work ethic and drive as she puts in extra effort. She overcame an injury this year and still has the drive to keep going, keeping up spirits and helping her team to do the same.

“Watching her overcome [her injury] and just putting in the extra effort to get past that stood out to me,” dance coach Mandy Ridgeway said.

The Pantherettes have won every competition they have entered so far this season. Their most recent victory came February 1 at McIntosh High School when the team earned first place in both pom and jazz.

Starr’s Mill competes at state sectionals on February 15. The Pantherettes will look to continue their streak of state championships on February 22 in Athens, Georgia.
