Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognizes senior basketball player Scott Stevens as the fourth Player of the Week for the winter sports season.
“I worked hard throughout the offseason and during the season to be where I’m at now,” Stevens said. “We won’t be as good as we are if people aren’t held to those standards.”
Stevens set three school records against Notre Dame Academy on November 30. He scored 41 points, made 8 three pointers, and had 28 points in the third quarter. He followed this record-setting performance by scoring 23 against Fayette County on December 6.
“Last week Scott set the school record for three pointers in a game,” head coach Josh Reeves said. “He is our leader on the team, and he broke another record with 28 points in a single quarter.”
Scott has been on the varsity team longer than any other current player. His teammates look to him to lead based on this level of experience.
The team is currently 4-2 overall. They play Newnan High School at 1:30 p.m. on December 14 at Sandy Creek. The Panthers host McIntosh at 7:30 p.m. on December 20.
