Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior Lincoln DeLaere as the 18th Player of the Week for the fall sports season.
In last week’s game, DeLaere caught 5 passes for 140 yards and one touchdown. He also ran twice for nine yards in the team’s loss to Jonesboro, 29-24. Through 10 games, DeLaere has 34 receptions, 7 touchdowns, and 767 yards.
“I always loved football,” DeLaere said. “My grandpa used to bring me to games a lot when I was little.”
DeLaere has already set a new school record for receptions through 10 games with 34. He is currently nine catches from tying the school record for season receptions.
“Lincoln has become one of our better leaders on the team,” head coach David Cooper said. “He’s our lead receiver. He does a lot for the team.”
With the loss to Jonesboro, the Panthers dropped third in the region. The team is awaiting this week’s results to see who they will play in round one of the playoffs.
