Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize junior and starting first baseman Ella Bissonnette as the 11th Player of the Week for the fall sports season.
“I try to put my best effort at all times on the field, and I really think I’ve grown this season, especially on my bat and on defense,” Bissonnette said. “I try to get rallies started and keep girls focused, and that’s been helping us throughout this season. I hope to continue that moving forward.”
Bissonnette has a batting average of .417 with a quality at bats of .603. Head coach Peyton Dean hopes to see her continue to be a leader and values the way Bissonnette speaks up for her teammates.
“Ella has done things on and off the field for us this year. It’s always been amazing seeing how much she’s grown from eighth grade to this year,” Dean said. “She is a leader on the field, constantly talking to her teammates and making the right calls.”
