Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize junior Skip Smith as the 10th Player of the Week for the fall sports season.

“I’ve been playing for 13 years now, and it’s always been a piece of me,” Smith said. “I feel I had my best game all season.”

In Monday’s win over Mundy’s Mill, Smith had six catches for 138 yards and one touchdown. He also had one kick return for 20 yards. On the season Smith has 11 total receptions for 196 yards. He is currently third on the team for receptions.

“Skip had 138 yards receiving last week and had a great game,” head coach David Cooper said. “Week in and week out he blocks for everybody and plays offense, defense, and special teams.”

The team is averaging 139.2 passing yards per game. Starr’s Mill is 6-0 for the season and 2-0 in region play.

The Panthers host Central Carrollton tonight for the top spot in the region. Starr’s Mill will recognize this year’s Hall of Fame inductees prior to the game. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
