Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize sophomore wide receiver and defensive player Thomas Cochran as the third Player of the Week for the fall sports season.
“I believe I was chosen because of the opportunities I was given in the game to help my team succeed, especially down at the goal line, where I caught both of my touchdowns from Logan, my quarterback,” Cochran said.
In last week’s 28-7 victory over Whitewater, Cochran had 2 receptions for 14 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cochran has 4 receptions for 35 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season.
“Thomas is a natural leader and has been since he’s shown up,” head coach David Cooper said. “[He] played a lot for us last year at wide out. He had a really good game on offense, and played pretty well on defense.”
Through two games, Starr’s Mill is averaging 350.5 total yards of offense, while the defense has only allowed an average of 173 total yards.
The Panthers are 2-0 overall and host Veterans this Friday at 7:30 p.m.
