Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior Jack Ryan as the 14th Player of the Week for the spring sports season.
“Jack doesn’t say much. He just leads by example,” head coach Brent Moseley said. “He works hard, he’s quiet, [and] he’s a hard worker.”
In last weekend’s semifinals games against North Oconee, Ryan had 1 hit, 2 walks, and contributed 1 run in 7 at bats.
“We’ve all grown up together our whole lives, so we have a lot of chemistry,” Ryan said.
Ryan is part of a Panther baseball team that went undefeated in region play and currently boasts a 30-2 record overall. After sweeping the Titans, 12-8 and 13-1, the Panthers advance to the state championship for the first time since 2021.
Starr’s Mill faces pre-season no. 1 Cherokee Bluff in a best-of-three series for the AAAA state championship. The first two games of a Saturday doubleheader begin at 5 p.m.in Rome, Georgia. The games will be played at AdventHealth Stadium.
