Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize sophomore soccer player Kendra Ivaska as the 11th Player of Week for the spring sports season.
“She works harder than anybody, and she sets a standard that we need to all try to maintain and pursue,” head coach John Bowen said. “She’s extraordinary in the amount of effort and time she puts into being as good as she can be.”
Ivaska leads the team in goals, averaging 2.1 goals per match. This is her second year on the varsity team.
“Our team had a lot of success, and I was surrounded by a lot of really great players,” Ivaska said. “So I was able to have a lot of success, but just because of my teammates and the coaches I got to play with.”
Totaling 36 goals and 82 points, Ivaska is ranked in the top 67 nationally for goals, top 16 in Georgia in points, and top three in Class 4A for points and goals.
“She wants to be the best she can be,” Bowen said. “She’s growing as a person and as a leader. She’s finding her voice more and more.”
Ivaska will be joined by junior Kali McQuade and senior Mia Hargrove at this year’s Divarsity All-Star soccer match at Sprayberry High School on May 18.
