Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize girls soccer player Olivia Silcox as the second Player of the Week for the spring sports season.
“I think I help us offensively but also defensively, too,” Silcox said. “[Soccer] has been my whole life.”
Silcox plays center midfielder for the Lady Panthers. Through six games this season she has two goals and three assists.
“She does a really good job as a senior,” head coach John Bowen said. “She is racing out to the other players and giving suggestions and setting a standard.”
The team is currently 5-0-1 overall and 1-0 in region play.
Both soccer teams travel to LaGrange tonight for a pair of varsity matches. Panther soccer returns home to host Troup County on March 12. The girls match begins at 6 p.m.
