Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize sophomore basketball player Addi-Grace Morrison as the 12th Player of the Week for the winter sports season.
“I played pretty hard and I hustled a lot in our last game,” Morrison said. “Recently, I’ve been doing well at giving my teammates the ball and giving them opportunities to score.”
Morrison plays point guard and shooting guard for the Starr’s Mill varsity girls basketball team. Being one of the younger girls on the team, Morrison has really stepped up to contribute to her team.
“She’s had a really good few weeks in games and practices. She is so invaluable to our team because of her energy and how hard she works,” head coach Anna Atha said. “She brings a lot of energy to the team and is definitely a huge spark off the bench.”
The team is 20-7 overall and 13-2 in region play. The Lady Panthers finished the regular season second in the region behind Fayette County.
In the region tournament semifinals last night, Starr’s Mill defeated Trinity, 57-44. The Lady Panthers play the Fayette County Lady Tigers tonight at 7 p.m. in the region championship.
