Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize varsity basketball player William Robinson as the seventh Player of the Week for the winter sports season.
“William is kind of a centerpiece for offense. We want to run everything through him,” head coach Josh Reeves said. “He’s our six-eight standard, and we try to feed the ball and post him. As he’s grown, he’s gotten better and better offensively.”
In three games last week, Robinson averaged 17.5 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. Tuesday night, the Panthers lost to Troup County, 61-59.
“I just really go hard in practice and get myself in shape for the game,” Robinson said.
Currently, the team is 11-8 overall, 6-3 in region play. The Panthers are fourth in the region.
Both varsity teams host region opponent Trinity tonight beginning with the girls game at 6 p.m.
