Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize junior Scott Stevens as the fourth Player of the Week for the winter sports season.
“I encourage my younger teammates to stay active and not get down on themselves,” Stevens said.
Stevens was selected by head coach Josh Reeves because he is a capable leader He inspires his teammates to work hard by working hard himself.
“He works really hard everyday,” Reeves said. “He’s not one of the people who takes a day off. To have those attributes as a junior is very important.”
Through the first four games of the season Stevens has averaged 17.5 points and 9 rebounds per game.
Starr’s Mill lost back-to-back games this past weekend. The first loss was to McIntosh Friday night, 68-61. Stevens had 16 points in a closely contested game.
The Panthers then played the Newnan Cougars in another close game, losing 53-50. Stevens was held scoreless in the game.
After playing at Buford on December 16, the team plays a trio of games in Florida before returning to begin region play.
