Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize sophomore Jack Lynch as the first Player of the Week for the winter sports season.
“I broke a minute in the 100-meter in the breaststroke, [and] my freestyle has gotten better,” Lynch said. “The team has gotten a lot better. We lost seniors last year but we gained a lot of freshmen this year.”
Head coach Derek Abrams selected Lynch because he is a very well-rounded swimmer. Lynch works extremely hard and progressing a lot to begin the season.
“As a sophomore, he is a silent leader,” Abrams said. “He is in the pool, [and] he is working really hard to get better.”
Jack has qualified for state in the 200-yard individual medley, the 100-yard breaststroke, and the 100-yard freestyle.
The boys team placed first In a dual meet versus Whitewater and the Blue Devil Invitational. At the Tik Tok Challenge, Starr’s Mill boys placed 3rd overall.
The swim team has a meet tonight against Fayette County and Sandy Creek at the Kedron Aquatic Center in Peachtree City.
