Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior Eileen Simmons as the 18th Player of the Week for the fall sports season.
“She’s just a leader on the field,” head coach Mark Williamson said. “She’s kind of like our offensive coordinator on the field, their coach on the field.”
Simmons is a running back and has been playing for two years. She has moved around in positions but still continues to lead the underclassman.
This is the second year of flag football, and both years they have advanced to the region tournament. Although the season is over the team is continuing to grow and learn.
“It’s made me realize how everyone can work together, and how we should work together, and how much people on the sidelines can help,” Simmons said.
The flag football season ended on November 14 in a 20-6 loss to East Coweta. The team finished with a 9-9 record overall.
