Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior Jae Ardoin as the 12th Player of the Week for the fall sports season.
This is Ardoin’s second year on the flag football team. She has transitioned from being a defensive player to an offensive player.
“I guess to put it simply Jae’s awesome, super energetic, just a great teammate,” head coach Mark Williamson said. “[She] constantly [gives] great effort on the field.”
With flag football only being a sport at Starr’s Mill for two years Ardoin has been learning how to improve and play the game better. As a veteran player, she has also been helping the new players improve.
“Last year it was my first year here, and I was interested in it but I was kind of scared to play it, and then I saw the girls out there and I was like I should start playing just to make new friends, ” Ardoin said. “This year, I was just so excited to start playing it again, because last year was so much fun.”
The Panthers are currently 5-1 and riding a four-game win streak, including a 25-6 win over Newnan last night. Starr’s Mill hosts Whitewater at 6 p.m. on October 26.
