Senior Lauren Gutshall has been selected as the second Player of the Week for the spring sports season. Head coach John Bowen selected Gutshall for her hardworking role as a senior captain.

Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior Lauren Gutshall as the second Player of the Week for the 2023 spring sports season.
“Lauren was one of the most important players the last couple of weeks,” head coach John Bowen said. ‘She was named captain, works real hard, and she embodies a lot of what we try to emulate as a soccer player at Starr’s Mill.”
As a senior, leader, and captain, Gutshall assists her teammates, points the way, and helps other players see what they should be doing.
“I think I am a positive leader,” Gutshall said. “I help the team offensively and defensively, and off the field and on the field.”
Next year, Gutshall will play for University of Tennessee-Chattanooga and plans to major in marketing.
Starr’s Mill recently defeated Whitewater, 4-0. Varsity girls followed up that win with victories over Riverdale and LaGrange. The Lady Panthers are currently undefeated in region play.
After a pair of away games next week, Starr’s Mill returns home to host North Clayton on March 21.
