Sophomore Ella Long has been selected as the 12th Farmers Insurance Player of the Week for the winter sports season. Long was chosen by athletic director Shane Ratliff for her leadership and her constructive feedback.

Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize sophomore dancer Ella Long as the 12th Player of the Week for the winter sports season.
“My favorite part of being on the dance team is that it’s like a family,” Long said. “We’re just all so close.”
Long provides leadership for her teammates. She is vocal, and does a great job of giving constructive feedback to her fellow Pantherettes.
“[Long] has built a strong rapport with her teammates,” athletic director Shane Ratliff said. “It shows in her leadership.”
Earlier this month, the Pantherettes competed for the 3A-4A state title and won with a clean sweep in pom and jazz, securing their sixth consecutive state championship win in at least one category. They competed well throughout the whole season, not placing lower than second at any competition.
The dance season ended with the team’s win at state. The Pantherettes graduate two seniors this year, and will take a short reprieve before launching into preparations for next season.
