Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize senior Samin Sayani as the first Player of the Week for the winter sports season.

“He is overall a great swimmer,” boys head coach Derek Abrams said. “He is more than just his fast time, he is the guy that leads by example. He is the guy who is willing to put in the work and is willing to help others.”

Sayani placed first for the boys in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard freestyle relay against McIntosh on November 19. He placed second in the 200-yard individual medley behind senior Seth Roach.  

“I try to encourage [the new swimmers] to push themselves whenever they can,” Sayani said. “Just a little encouragement can go a long way.”

At the tri-meet on December 3, the boys defeated Sandy Creek and Fayette County by 198 points.

The boys swim team will compete at the Greyhound Invitational in Marietta on January 8.
