Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance in Peachtree City awarded swimmer junior Filip Borjeson with the sixth Player of the Week award for the winter sports season.

“I am very honored,” Borjeson said. “I worked pretty hard and I practiced a lot.”

The Mill totaled 371 points placing the boys and girls first against Whitewater. Borjeson placed first in the 50-yard freestyle and second in the 100-yard backstroke. He participated in two relays, and both came in first for the Starr’s Mill swim team at Whitewater.

“He had a solid performance,” coach Derek Abrams said. “I think he puts in a lot of work and it is a great accomplishment.”

Additionally, Borjeson obtained two individual state cuts at the Whitewater swim meet.

“He had overall endurance, good form and he just is a good swimmer that put him in a spot where he could get a top time and to perform well,” Abrams said.

The Starr’s Mill swim team’s next meet is at the County Championship in Clayton on Jan. 20.
