Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance in Peachtree City awarded senior Kylee Bogumill with the first Player of the Week award for the winter sports season.

Bogumill is a four-year swimmer for Starr’s Mill and also swims SCAT.

“She has great attitude and she stays on nights that aren’t required to help out,” head coach Robin Huggins said. “She helps the other swimmers with turns, starts, pacing or breathing. She’s always ready to share her years of swimming experience with the newer kids.”

Bogumill has made state times at every single event she has swam at and contributes points to win swim meets. She swam the 200 and 500 free in the first meet against Whitewater. She also swam the 200 and 400 medley relays at the Big Splash meet.

“It’s pretty exciting to get state times and it motivates me to work harder to perform well at state,” Bogumill said.

The Starr’s Mill swim team are competing next against McIntosh at the Kedron Fieldhouse on Jan. 5.

“It’s my last [season] so I’m ready to have fun and enjoy it,” Bogumill said.
