Last night, the Lady Panthers varsity soccer team mercy-ruled Drew in the first round of GHSA state playoffs.
The game only lasted 20 minutes. Senior Olivia Shaw scored four of the team’s 10 goals.
“We’re just doing a lot of possession and shooting and like trying to play quick possession games, so that we can be prepared,” Shaw said.
The Lady Panthers have started to look at the season as a one game season from this point forward. Winning this game has given the girls more time to prepare in practice for the upcoming games that will be more of a challenge.
“It guarantees three more practices in a game, and it really doesn’t guarantee us anything beyond that,” head coach John Bowen said. “So it’s very much like a one game season from here on out, and we hope to get another season on Tuesday.”
