JV boys lacrosse had a tough game, but ultimately won 5-3 against Whitewater.
Whitewater started strong and scored a goal early into the game.
“We just have to find the cage, move the ball, and be patient,” head coach Patrick Cheney said. “They’re learning quick, and they’re doing a very good job.”
Whitewater fought against the Panthers hard, causing a lot of struggling for possession of the ball. The Panthers eventually broke through when sophomore Jacob Cochran scored a goal.
“We need to improve on conditioning and keep running,” Cochran said.
Whitewater upped the stakes in the second half, scoring another goal and pushing harder against the Panthers.
Whitewater kept building pressure, but the Starr’s Mill defense held strong. Leading to a tie game until the Panthers broke through and won the game.
“Playing against Whitewater, it doesn’t matter what the teams look like, or what the records look like,” Cheney said. “This game’s always a good game.”
The JV boys are now 6-0 overall. They travel to Pace Academy on March 20.
