Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize freshman cross country runner Beatrix Cooper as the 16th Player of the Week for the fall sports season.
“It’s been amazing. I love the teammates,” Cooper said. “The coaches are amazing, and it’s just been an amazing experience.”
At the Coach Wood Invitational in Whitesburg, Georgia, Cooper finished 120th overall with a time of 20 minutes, 35.31 seconds.
“She’s been our leader throughout the entire season. When our girls have faltered it’s been Beatrix that’s been there to hold true,” head coach Austin Enriquez said. “When the racing gets hard, it’s Beatrix that’s in the front.”
Starr’s Mill girls cross country finished 23rd out of 31 teams. The team’s highest finisher was senior Gabby Roach who finished 117th.
The Panthers host varsity sectionals on November 2 at One Church.
