JV football had a rough and hard season finishing 2-4 overall.
“The JV team was plagued with injuries this season,” head coach Andrew Garner said. “We lost many major contributors throughout this year.”
Freshmen comprised most of this year’s team.
At the beginning of the year new teammates coming from middle school are exposed to a variety of new expectations and demands, especially as they learn the terminology and the playbook.
“We are extremely excited for what the group of players will be able to accomplish next year and in the years to come,” Garner said. “They battled and fought all season long.”
Starr’s Mill finished the JV season against Fayette County on October 17. Despite having a rough season, the Panthers finished with a 20-12 win over Fayette County.
Even though the JV football season has ended, varsity football is still going strong. On October 18, varsity football defeated Northside, 36-6. Starr’s Mill remains undefeated at 9-0, 5-0 in region play.
