Following a rocky start to the first set, freshman volleyball went on to dominate the court Monday night against Newnan. Despite feeling as though they did not play their best, the Panthers won 25-14, 25-9.
“I thought we did good,” freshman Aftyn Heiden said. “I feel like we could have done better, but I feel like we played good together.”
Strong team bonds create a strong team in play, and the Panthers displayed that thoroughly. Even when things did not go their way, the team consistently congratulated one another and kept the team energy positive, giving the Panthers the motivation to keep going.
“I’m confident in our team,” freshman Keali Tumblin said.
Tumblin’s presence at the net helped her be one of the key players in the win. She, along with Heiden, were major forces in helping the team earn the win.
After working the VolleyBrawl hosted at Starr’s Mill this weekend, the 9th grade team travels to Newnan for their next match on August 26.
