Both tennis teams remain undefeated in region play following wins over Trinity earlier this week.
“I just imagined myself on the court by myself with nobody watching me,” senior Oliver Wysong said. “It was just another practice lesson, and I tried to focus in and hit the ball as best I could.”
Wysong and line 1 doubles players sophomores Matthew Wysong and Alex Ruiz highlighted the 4-1 win over Trinity.
The girls team also defeated Trinity 4-1. Senior Vaishnavi Jayakumar and sophomore Chloe Bearden both had strong performances.
“It’s definitely been a rebuilding year, but I’m really encouraged by what I am seeing from all the new kids this year,” head coach Amy Evert said. “We have a young team, but we do have some good talent coming around.”
Both teams are currently 3-3 overall and 2-0 in region play. Starr’s Mill travels to LaGrange today for matches beginning at 4:30 p.m.
