JV boys basketball won a tough and physical game Tuesday night against region opponent Whitewater High School, 43-35.
“We played hard and hustled,” head coach Chase Penland said. “We’ve improved a lot this season and I have to shout out the football guys for coming in and making an impact.”
Junior Jory Williams led the Panthers with 17 points. However, it was a total team effort on both sides of the ball.
“Everybody made an impact,” sophomore Brody Bayes said on how he thought his teammates played. “ We all played hard.”
The Panthers led the entire game and built a big lead in the first half. When Starr’s Mill subbed in their bench, the game evened out more.
“We were just hitting big shots,” sophomore Sawyer Jetson said. “We were really hyped going into the game, especially with them being in our region.”
This marks the team’s third win this season. Starr’s Mill will try to make it back-to-back wins when they travel to Fayette County this Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:45 p.m.
