With the season in full swing, Starr’s Mill flag football is learning and improving together to work their way to the playoffs.
“The girls are working hard. They’re trying to do all the little things we ask them, as far as learning the sport,” head coach Mark Williamson said. “They’re working hard to get better.”
Although the team has lost five of its last six games, executing plays has improved. Defensively, the team is reading the opponents’ plays better, intercepting more passes and tackling for losses.
“My goals as a team are for us to trust each other enough to have each other’s backs and for us to get closer and bond,” senior safety and wide receiver Norah Webb said.“I really want us to make it to state.”
In only its second year as a sport at Starr’s Mill, the team is connecting with one another. This is shown through their performance on the field.
Starr’s Mill flag football team bounced back and won both games on November 7 defeating Sandy Creek 31-0 and Spalding 7-0.
