Varsity volleyball closed out an undefeated region schedule on senior night with a 3-1 win over Fayette County.
“We demonstrated that we can change the lineup and still be successful,” head coach Shayne Thompson said. “We demonstrated that we had the perseverance to come back even after giving up a set.”
The Panthers easily won the first set 25-7 before losing to the Tigers in the second set. After that loss, Starr’s Mill bounced back winning the final two sets 25-22 and 25-18.
“We have been smoothing out our weaknesses over the past couple of days,” senior Kari Smith said
Smith led the team in kills with 24 over the course of the four sets. She also had the second most serves received with 23, right behind senior Luci Hoffman.
“Going forward, it will be important to play our game and not get complacent,” Thompson said.
With an undefeated region record, Starr’s Mill enters the region tournament as the top seed.
