After a 13-4 win over Trinity last Thursday, Starr’s Mill baseball lost a closely contested game against the Lions the following night, 1-0.

“We rolled in a little bit in the end, but their pitcher did a great job,” head coach Brent Moseley said.

The Panthers gave up three hits and one run, while Trinity surrendered only one hit.

“I think we’re pretty good everywhere,” junior Drew Richardson said. “We just got to stay sharp while we’re on, and fix the little mistakes.”

The game remained locked at 0-0 until the sixth inning. Trinity broke the tie with a RBI from senior Tai Peete.

“We just got to play as a team and not give up,” junior Heath Whitlock said. “[We have to] play the whole game.”

With the loss and following last night’s 11-0 win over Fayette County, the Panthers are currently third in the region. Trinity and LaGrange are tied for first.

The Panthers are scheduled to play three more region games this week before traveling to Tennessee over the break.
