Kamdyn Kasler
Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance recognize junior cheerleader Kamdyn Kasler as the sixth Player of the Week for the winter sports season.
“I’ve always been a hard-working person and I just want to do my best for the team,” Kasler said. “I just try my best to work my hardest to make the team better.”
Last weekend at McIntosh, the team placed first in their competition. The cheer team travels to Putnam County this weekend for the region championships.
“[Kamdyn] can always be counted on to do what we need whether it’s fulling or bringing extra skills,” head coach Mandy Ratliff said. “She’s kind to everybody all the time.”
To accommodate for COVID-19 regulations, the state competition will be held over two days this year. AAAAA is scheduled for session two on Feb. 15, with competition beginning at 4 p.m.
Seniors Kailey Bennett and Emily Stackhouse will compete for GHSA Cheerleader of the Year honors in Columbus. The team as a whole was named a finalist for the Georgia Cheerleading Coaches Association’s Team of the Year. Starr’s Mill is one of four finalists for the award with the winner announced at the state championships.
