Tim Monihan and Farmers Insurance have awarded varsity lacrosse attacker junior Caroline Andrews with the fourth Player of the Week award of the spring.
“Caroline has developed into one of our most effective members of the offense,” head coach Mary Lehman said. “She is able to take shots on goal with great finesse and placement while also making quick decisions.”
Playing primarily up front, Andrews is consistently dangerous on the offensive side of the field. She also has the capability of playing in the midfield, providing needed versatility to the Panther’s lineup.
“My main focus is just trying to play my best and do whatever I can to help my team,” Andrews said.
As one of the most unselfish players on the team, Andrews consistently looks for the best opportunity for her teammates, and this attitude has played a big part in the Panthers’ 10-1 record this season.
“There are so many talented athletes at Starr’s Mill so knowing that my effort and hard work have paid off is a really special feeling,” Andrews said.
Not only is Andrews an excellent teammate on the field, she also is an integral part of the local community. She volunteers her free time working with the local recreational youth lacrosse program and officiating girls’ youth lacrosse games.
