Julian Lynch

Tim Monihan of Farmers Insurance has crowned junior forward Julian Lynch with the 12th Player of the Week for winter sports. Lynch broke out this season while the Panthers produced an 18-7 record, 10-2 in region play, and won the first boys’ basketball region championship in school history.

“As a junior, he has provided outstanding leadership to our basketball team,” head coach Brandon Hutchins said.

Lynch increased his scoring average from three points his sophomore season, to 12 points this season, and has transitioned into one of the team’s biggest scoring threats.

He also improved his rebounding average to five from two last season, and has shown that he can succeed on both ends of the floor.

“My teammate Drew [Hudson] inspired me to work as hard as him to get the award,” Lynch said. “He is a good friend of mine and pushes me everyday in practice.”

The Panthers will play in the first round of the GHSA State Playoffs against Woodland from Henry County this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Panther Pit.
