Mitchell Prowant
Farmers Insurance in Peachtree City presented senior Mitchell Prowant with the second Player of the Week award of the school year.
Prowant, a running back for the Panthers, had an impressive performance against the Northgate Vikings in the second game of the season. He ran for 130 yards on 22 carries and scored a touchdown on the way to a 16-13 victory.
“I’ll continue to help my team by giving 100 percent on every play and in practice,” Prowant said.
Northgate’s defense had no answers for Prowant’s performance. He and the rest of the Panthers offense did a spectacular job, amassing 255 total rushing yards and converting three out of four field goal attempts.
“I expect to perform that way every game,” Prowant said. “I hope to improve on the little things every week and get better as the season goes on.”
Playing with the Panthers for four years, Prowant has continued to take steps toward reaching his full potential.
“He’s a hard-nosed, tough kid,” coach Chad Phillips said. “He’s a team guy, he’ll do whatever it takes for the team”
