Senior Jon Pilato said the win against Grady Wednesday night could not have been a better way to end his final lacrosse season.
“We had a lot of fun during the game,” Pilato said. “This season was a great way for the seniors to go out and a great beginning for next year.”
The Panthers (9-9) traveled to Grady (3-12) and won 21-2. On Tuesday night against Blessed Trinity (13-3), who is ranked sixth in the state, the Panthers lost 10-6 in a hard-fought game.
“The first half of the game we came out slow,” senior Kery Ostrowski said. “Then in the second half we tried to play catch up and just couldn’t make up the difference.”
Head coach Jeff Schmidlkofer said his team didn’t start off great but in the second half outscored Blessed Trinity 4-1. “We just weren’t composed in the first half. We played a tough schedule against eight teams ranked in the top 10 in the AAAAA classification,” Schmidlkofer said. “The big wins we had this year were huge and set us up well to have a great season again next year.”
