Senior Kyle Ulversoy said the Panthers’ 10-0 blowout win over Northside Columbus was a good way to start the first round of the AAAAA state soccer playoffs Wedneday nigh at Panther Stadium.
“We dominated them throughout the entire game,” Ulversoy said. “As a team we connected passes well and finished most of our opportunities on goal.”
Head soccer coach Mike Hanie’s concerns about this team’s speed of play and abiltiy to match up against their opponents no longer worry him.
“Our defense played a great game and shutout Northside’s offense,” Hanie said. “Before the next playoff game, we just need to get a few of our players healthy.” Some knee and ankle problems have been nagging starters Chandler Barnes, Channning Park, Walter Hix, and Patrick Spencer.
The Panthers will travel to Brunswick to face Glynn Academy at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the second round of the playoffs.
