What happens when holiday cheer collides with unspoken feelings? Bittersweet moments of yearning for someone who is so close yet so far.
The ache of knowing someone in a way no one else—including Santa—ever could. These are feelings that Sabrina Carpenter represents in her Christmas song, “Santa Doesn’t Know You Like I Do.”
The first verse starts with a claim that she has been there for a guy through thick and thin. She says, “I’ve been there through the good and bad / Know how to make you laugh.” Carpenter wants him to know that no one knows him like she does, and no one else can make him feel a certain way.
The second verse discusses her wanting him to come over to her house just simply to see him. She begins saying that she can make him fall for her just like the snow falling outside.
The chorus picks up with the melody, adding backing vocals and a festive theme to it. It discusses her knowing all about him including his favorite songs. She does so much just to be there for him, yet he chooses someone else over her.
“Santa Doesn’t Know You Like I Do” was released November 17, 2023, along with a six-song album titled “Fruitcake.”
Sabrina Carpenter has been producing music for almost 11 years. Her rise to fame was when she was an actress on “Girl Meets World” which aired on Disney Channel from 2014-2017.
