“Brooklyn Baby” came out on June 8, 2014, written by Lana Del Rey and Barrie James O’Neill. The song was written about a young girl who brags about her musical boyfriend. Originally Lana was supposed to record “Brooklyn Baby ” with Lou Reed, but he passed away the day they planned to record. 

“Brooklyn Baby” is the fourth single from Lana Del Rey’s album “Ultraviolence,” Lana’s third studio album was released on June 13, 2014. Over 182,000 copies were sold just the first week after the album’s release. It then topped the Billboard 200 charts. 

Lana Del Rey made the album about addressing the conditions of toxic and unhealthy relationships. The album has a total of 14 songs equaling one hour of listening. Some other songs included on this album are “West Coast,” “Pretty When You’re crying,” “Sad Girl,” and “Cruel World.”

Most people know her as Lana Del Rey, but Elizabeth Woodridge Grant’s real name. Lana Del Rey was born on June 21, 1985, and spent her time growing up in New York City. She started her career with open mic nights and club gigs in 2006. Lana’s voice is famed for its romance and gloomy and elegant tone. Her references and inspiration for her music style come all the way back to pop culture in the 1950s and ‘60s.
