“Can’t Wait to be Dead” by FINNEAS
February 4, 2021
Stop thinking about your plans (or lack thereof) for Valentine’s Day and pull up the music service of your choice. “Can’t Wait to Be Dead” by FINNEAS is a relatable commentary on today’s political climate— so relatable you won’t even realize you’re singing along.
A low acoustic carries the song until 0:50 seconds, when the bass, electric guitar, and drums drop in. The transition is seamless, but completely changes the tone of the song from Ed Sheeran vibes to something more like the band COIN. Throughout the song, FINNEAS comments on how much attention social media demands and how in the end it feels like it does more harm than good.
FINNEAS comes from a musical family, and he has worked closely on music with his sister Billie Eilish. Some of the music the siblings have collaborated on include the single “Ocean Eyes,” and Eilish’s albums “Don’t Smile at Me” and “When We All Sleep Where Do We Go?” FINNEAS released his first two singles, “I Lost a Friend” and “Shelter” in 2019.
Some of his top songs include “Let’s Fall in Love for the Night” and “Break My Heart Again.”
FINNEAS is a rising star in the music industry, and his songs are the perfect combination of raw and catchy.
