Freshman Kayleah Condo is currently listening to “Fly Me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra.
“His voice is very smooth and enjoyable,” Condo said.
“Fly Me to the Moon” is a slow jazz song that describes the classic trope of a man falling deeply in love with a woman. Sinatra uses figurative language and romantic imagery to showcase his feelings. A variety of instruments, including piano, bass, and trombone accompany Sinatra’s voice.
“Fly Me to the Moon,” originally titled “In other Words,” was written by Bart Howard. Sinatra later covered the song and added it to his 1964 album “It Might as Well Be Swing.” In 1999, “Fly Me to the Moon” received the Songwriters Hall of Fame Towering Song Award.
Born in New Jersey on December 12, 1915, Sinatra has made over 1,400 songs and released 59 studio albums. Sinatra has won 34 Grammys, and four Primetime Emmy Awards.
“It reminds me of summers with my brother because we like to listen to our CD player, and we have a Frank Sinatra CD,” Condo said.
