Health teacher and varsity softball coach Peyton Dean is currently listening to “She’s in love with the boy” by Trisha Yearwood.
“The girl in the song is very strong willed, and I’m very strong willed,” Dean said.
The song is about a girl who is in love with this boy that her dad does not approve of. He tells her that this guy is not the right guy and that she needs to leave him. The girl will not leave him because she cares and loves him. At the end of this song, the mom sticks up for her daughter by telling the dad that they are a younger version of them.
The catchy beat of the song and the amazing lyrics make it hard to forget. This country/pop song has a view of a young girl thinking she is going to marry her boyfriend. Her dad tries to tell her that she should not settle for the first guy, but the girl argues that they are in love and will get married someday.
“It brings back really good times when we were growing up with my cousins,” Dean said.
The song’s beat and lyrics hold special memories with Dean’s family from when they were young. They would all sing it at the top of their lungs.
This song is a debut single. The artist Trisha Yearwood wrote this song in 1991. It was her first big hit. At 27 years old, she was pretty young herself and wrote her song from a personal experience only a few years earlier. She would release four more big hits after “She’s in love with the boy.”
