Sophomore Brian Hobbman has recently been listening to “Space Oddity” by David Bowie.

“The story told in the song is amazing,” Hobbman said.

It tells the story of an astronaut who has a malfunction in his suit, but he is so in awe of being in space that he does not realize it is too late. 

“The instrumentation is really cool,” Hobbman said. “It sounds really wonky.”

The song starts out with a guitar playing slowly before transitioning to faster strumming of the guitar. 

David Bowie was a rock artist and song-writer. He was well-known for his shifting in music genres and personality. “Space Oddity”  is the opening song on his second album, “David Bowie.”
