Freshman Hayden Pittman is listening to “Loyalty” by Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick Lamar is an American rap artist born in Compton, California, whose lyrics have been influenced by Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.GEminem, Jay Z, and Nas.

Freshman Hayden Pittman is currently listening to “Loyalty” by Kendrick Lamar.

The song is important to Hayden because it reminds him of his childhood.

“My stepdad used to listen to [‘Loyalty’] all the time,” Pittman said. 

“Loyalty” has an interesting intro with a catchy beat and chopped vocals. The song repeats the words “Loyalty, loyalty, loyalty” in the chorus, stressing the importance of the trait to Lamar. 

The song sends a good message while being up-beat and fun to listen to.

Kendrick Lamar began his career under the name K-dot. Lamar caught hip-hop producer Dr. Dre’s attention and soon his albums received recognition. 

His biggest accomplishment is his album “DAMN.,” the first hip-hop album to receive the Pulitzer prize.
