Alex O’Connor, professionally known as Rex Orange County, released his tour dates in North America and the UK after the announcement of his latest album, “Alexander Technique.” He will come to Atlanta for two days, October 23 and 24.
He has performed in Atlanta in bigger venues before but decided to play in smaller, more intimate venues to enhance the story being told by the album. The last time he was in Atlanta was in May of 2022 and he played in the Cadence Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park for the “Who Cares” Tour.
He started his tour on October 4 and 5 in Chicago and it is set to end in London on February 19, 2025. O’Connor will play multiple dates in each city in order to make up for the smaller venues.
Rex Orange County’s music can be described as soft pop with a mix of hip hop. Many of his albums explore themes of the struggles of fame, love, loss of a relationship and finding oneself. Each album tells a story while exploring these themes.
“The Alexander Technique” is the England born singer’s fifth studio album released on September 6. He announced this album on July 18 and released the two opening songs of the album “Alexander” and “Guitar Song.”
His first album, “Bcos U Will Never Be Free,” was released in 2015 and was followed by a feature in the “Flower Boy” album by Tyler the Creator in 2017. In that same year, O’Connor released “Apricot Princess” as well as a couple of singles. In 2019, he released “Pony” and later on in 2022, he released “Who Cares?”.
He will be in Atlanta on October 23 and 24 at the Cobb Center for Performing Arts. Fans can buy tickets on Live Nation.
