Last month, platinum-selling pop band Echosmith released its newest single “Over My Head.” The California native band have released many singles in hopes to relive the fame generated from their debut album “Talking Dreams” in 2013 and their highly popular song off the album “Cool Kids.”

The trio band, consisting of siblings Sydney Sierota on keys and as the lead singer, Noah Sierota on bass, and Graham Sierota on drums, all worked together to make “Over My Head.”

The song features a very catchy, attention-grabbing chorus. There is also a modern techno beat, which is similar to the modern hits on the radio. The pop band branches out from the pop stereotype to include more synth and bass with their music, as many pop singers and bands have done recently.

This is very unlike their earlier releases such as their reverb driven guitar, and alternative sounding debut song, “Cool Kids,” or the upbeat acoustic driven song “Bright.”

With the downfall of the stereotypical pop music over the last few years, many artists have not adapted and have fallen off the charts. Echosmith, in its newest release, has adapted to this trend and slightly changed its style for the better.

If “Over My Head” is an indicator of how Echosmith’s future music will be, the group will continue to release hits and will begin to start the climb to fame again.
