Health teacher Charles Cheek recently watched “Little Giants.”
“Little Giants” is about two brothers that run their own football teams. The younger of the two brothers has a team of the ‘misfits’. One of the brothers was a football legend in their little town. These brothers were rival teams that played each other. The older brother leads the better team, but the younger brother’s team has an ‘underdog’ story working for them.
Duwanye Dunham directed this film. He is known for his other films such as “Twin Peaks,” “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” and “Indiana Jones.” Dunham has directed a lot of high action films in career. Rick Morain and Kevin O’Shea were two of the main actors in the movie. They are known for other roles in movies such as “Ghostbusters” and “S.O.S Titanic.”
What did you enjoy about this film?
“It just kind of taught me that in football, it’s a game about just perseverance and hard work,” Cheek said.
What motivated you to watch this film?
“I love football and it’s a movie about a kid my age playing football,” Cheek said.
What was the most memorable part of this film?
“I have two daughters now, so it kind of showed that you should really love your kids and want them to be the best they can,” Cheek said.
How was this film different to others you’ve watched?
“The coach on the not-so-good team, he had a daughter on the team,” Cheek said.
What other films similar to this would you recommend?
“One of the movies I would recommend would be “Friday Night Lights.” The TV show and the movie are great, or an old football movie. “Wildcats” is a great one,” Cheek said.
